When it rains, it really pours in Addis. This forces me to constantly seek refuge until the coast is clear. I have to say, although this raining season seems to be a production nightmare for this film, its also adds charm to the market.  There is something special about watching everyone scramble under plastic bags and  small suks. Some dance the traditional Guragigna dance and some sit and watch the rain sweep the streets. It's a great time to talk and get to know people, which is exactly what I have been doing. The good news is that the rain never lasts....

On Sundays there are many sellers that come to the free open market in Merkato. Those that can't afford a spot during regular selling days,  sit on the road and spread their goods on the floor, as in the original market. They collect these random treasures during the week and wait for their turn to sell on Sundays. You can find the most random items...even a deflated soccer ball!  Can you find it in this pic? And yes you win a prize :)

I have to say this week was a bit challenging. Meeting so many people and figuring out who will best fit this story is no easy task.  Despite the stress, I feel the love...
