mesob is a colorful-basket used to keep a traditional Ethiopian meal. In MERKATO you can't dare pass the mesob section without stopping to admire the beautiful handcraft and vibrant colors. I met a young girl that runs a section herself. She invited me to sit and talk. She was great..i look forward to developing her story with the film.

Along the mesob area are these two onion sellers. They are an example of the many sellers that use the floor to display their goods (like in the old days). They can't afford permits to sell in a store and dont know where they will be when everything changes. MERKATO has been their home for many years...
